Encouraged by the Parc Naturel Regional du Luberon, several local farmers have planted in their fields an old variety of wheat. This variety, requiring little water, was rediscovered in 1985 by a technician from the Parc du Luberon .
Processed into flour, the result of its culture is then worked by bakers and sold in 3 bakeries in Apt ( Rue des Marchands , Place de la Bouquerie and Rue Saint -Pierre ). However Apt is not the only town in the Luberon area to offer this quality of bread because it is also found in bakeries in Cavaillon, Manosque, Reillane, Roussillon, Rustrel or Saint Etienne les Orgues, as well as in organic foods shop, Biocoop, located Route de Robion in Cavaillon .
