The stones, the sun, the blue light ...  

If I was born in Venice, almost a century ago! and has numerous residences around the world. I took me years to finally find a place where I could rest…

At Easter 2000, I discover the Luberon through my colleague Jean-Pascal Hesse who is native from the region. Arriving at Lacoste: it's shock! The emotion! If I knew the place in a literary way, and the reputation of its so famous marquis, I am just dazzled by the beauty of the place. The stones, the sun, the blue light, the smell of asphodel and scrubland delight me. I shudder, I waver, all my senses are awake. I immediately felt at home. I discover a village between ruins and unfulfilled dreams and these landscapes that let me think that I'm here with my ancestors...

I then decide to purchase the ruins of the castle of the divine marquis, which I restore at great expense. I am convinced then that it is necessary that Lacoste comes back to life. Painters, sculptors, poets have come here to seek their kindness and inspiration; I want to imitate them.

Very quickly, after huge works, a festival of opera is born. Exhibitions, theatrical performances, cinematographic projections follow. I buy a house, a shop, a business, and then another.

Since I create and work, I am an actor, an engine but at Lacoste, I am only a bridge, a bridge between a land, full of signs and history, and our future. This region inspires me and helps me... Since 2000, each week the train helps me to join my new home base and my dream of absolute art, for the whole village. Fortunately, and contrary to popular belief, I have never tried to own Lacoste; I belong only to these stones and these landscapes.
