GOULT in Luberon, located between Gordes, Roussillon, Lacoste and Ménerbes

The pretty village of Goult is located on a hill in the heart of the north Luberon valley. As in other villages of the Luberon, we find in Goult houses made of stone and plaster, a beautiful church, several fountains and at least one public washing basin. On the hill, the old castle and its fortified complex (the castellas Goult), and a wind mill, the Jerusalem mill.

The town is located between the town of Gordes to the north, Roussillon to the easth, Menerbes, Lacoste and Bonnieux to the south, Les Beaumettes to the west and finally Saint Pantaleon to the northwest.

The municipality is divided in two by the Calavon river and the former nationale road 100 which become the provincial road 900, where there are several more or less important hamlets. Among them stand out the hamlet of the Lumières which is at the bottom of the hill that supports the town, and the group's Maquignons / Saint-Veran which is on the other side of the Calavon river on the provincial road 106 which goes back to the nearby village of Lacoste.

The Calavon is a small river that runs through the valley north of the Luberon while collecting the waters of other smaller rivers and streams ending up into the Durance after having changed names between Robion and Cavaillon.
