The International Festival of STRING QUARTETS in Luberon

The International Festival of String Quartets in Luberon usually takes place every year in August.

This is a festival of classical music where composers of past centuries and new talents mix together (Mozart, Beethoven, Bartok, Brahms, Haydn, Schönberg, Schumann, Turina, Mendelssohn, Bartok, Ravel, Saint Saëns, Dvorak, Zemlinsky, Schubert, etc). In addition to concerts, lectures are held at the Ocher Conservatory of Roussillon.

This is a rather old festival as it had its 40th edition in 2015. For the occasion, the Festival hosted eight string Quartets from five different European countries.

The places chosen for the concerts are intimate places with great acoustic such as churches and abbeys, and the municipalities are quite varied. So we already had: The Church of Cabrières d'Avignon, the Silvacane Abbey in La Roque d'Anthéron, the Church of Goult, the Church of Saignon, the Church of Roussillon, etc.
